Welcome to the Blewett Lab
Welcome! The Blewett lab conducts research that examines the interactions between aquatic animals and the environment. Our work falls mostly under the research areas of physiology and toxicology, but integrates a wide range of tools from other disciplines, including biogeochemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry , ecology, and analytical chemistry. We work on vertebrates (i.e., fish) and invertebrates (i.e., crustaceans) from both marine and freshwater systems. Our lab is found at the University of Alberta, but we also perform research at various field sites including Huntsman Marine Science Centre and the Canadian High Arctic Research Station (CHARS).
The University of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are situated on Treaty 6 territory, traditional lands of the First Nations and Métis people.
